Noor Nuyten in Expansion of Consequences at Enia Gallery, Athens
Work by Noor Nuyten is presented in the group exhibition 'Expansion of Consequences' at Enia Gallery project space. The exhibition will open on Friday 17 May, and will be on view till 20 July 2019.
’Expansion of Consequences’ is curated by Guillaume Krick in association with the Bureau d’Art et de Recherche Roubaix, France. The show is working around the semantic field of construction/tool/measurement /energy. Guillaume Krick, artist and curator, is interested in how we relate to space, both in a physical and temporal way.
The aesthetic point of view is the result of a series of forms defined by individual artistic approaches. Gathering these propositions aims to go further than their initial reception and propose a new interpretation, responding to the shared fundamental question - 'What will man become in a space continually transformed by the precedent ?' Thus, the visitor's course around the show is marked by the notion of rhythm, as in a
music scoremusic – a rhythm that is soft and poetic, but also brutal and punctuated with forms and construction.
The importance of raw material is central, as is the prominence of tools, considered as the extension of the human arm, whose motorization gives a disturbing sort of life to certain works. Some of them need to be reactivated in order to ensure their impact during the course of the show. Finally, there is energy, the vector of all transformations, a change of condition until there is nothing to see but a container, an allegory of the extinction of our civilisation.
