Experience Dennis Rudolph's "The 5 Minute Apocalypse" at your own home

You can download the app "The 5 Minute Apocalypse" and experience the work from home by scanning the image on the Oude Kerk website (link in bio) with your phone. It will turn your computer screen into an altar piece.

You can record your experience with the record button in the app and share it on Instagram using #homeapocalypse. The Oude Kerk will repost all posted videos with this hashtag on the special Instagram feed @home_apocalypse.

The app can be downloaded at Apple Store and is up until Nov 25.

In navolging van Nam June Paik’s werk TV Buddha maakt multidisciplinair kunstenaar Dennis Rudolph (Berlijn, 1979) voor in de huiskamers een digitaal kunstwerk. Het maakt van je eigen computerscherm een heus altaarstuk. Zeven boodschappers van de AI, allemaal geschilderd door Rudolph in een VR 3D schilderprogramma, voeren een choreografie uit rond je monitor op de muziek van Barok componist Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater en spatten uiteindelijk uit elkaar op je smartphone om ruimte te maken voor de gigantische figuur van ‘Europa’ die je woonkamer binnenkomt.
