Jeroen Jongeleen - Running in circles at Kröller-Müller Museum
'Running in circles shows six video works of running works by Jeroen Jongeleen (Apeldoorn, 1967). If city parks are closed or restricted during the corona lockdowns, Jongeleen decides to reduce his running track to a circle with a diameter of twelve meters. On deserted areas where he can run – the roof of his studio building in Rotterdam, the Maasvlakte, the Oosterscheldekering in Zeeland or a grass field enclosed by trees near the Kröller-Müller Museum – he runs his circles, leaving a temporary trail of effort. A drone films the lonely, intimate performances of the artist who is stuck in a hamster wheel of his own creation.'
