PAINTINGS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN MADE YET –  WORKSHOP VISIT 

Two years after his last solo exhibition, Ronald Ophuis (Hengelo, 1968) showed a new painting at Upstream Gallery during Art Rotterdam in May 2022: a young calf standing unsteadily on its legs in soft glossy white against a dark background. It is a moving, pastoral depiction that differs from the paintings, from the often brutal scenes of violence between people in extreme situations, which Ophuis painted since graduating from the AKI a few years ago.
