Constant Dullaart part of IDFA program DocLab at De Brakke Grond
Constant Dullaart is part of IDFA's program DocLab: Nervous Systems at Cultuurhuis De Brakke Grond. DocLab is a podium for interactive projects.
This edition, internet and media artist Constant Dullaart participates with his work Social Bouquet.
In response to existing social media, Dullaart built his own platform during the corona pandemic. A place where you actually get together with friends, rather than a place where you are mere prey for clickbait or compete with others for likes and attention. This is an attempt to artfully reclaim the online space we lost to practical and work applications during the pandemic. Because an online meeting should be able to be more than an efficient Zoom-meeting.
Dullaart poetically shaped his platform as a peaceful meadow, where all visitors are flowers. Together, they form a social bouquet. On this platform, which can be visited in the DocLab exhibition and on your mobile phone, you are not at risk of dopamine addiction and are not bombarded to death with sales pitches. It is a field of flowers where everyone can openly interact and blossom. Jump into the meadow from the DocLab exhibition, from The Grey Space in The Hague or from your mobile phone.
Sometimes the artist is on site in the work.
