Alicia Framis' Antidog at Rijksmuseum
Alicia Framis' Antidog at Rijksmuseum
From 29 September 2023 until 14 January 2024, Rijksmuseum will host an exciting exhibition of 90 works from the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen collection, while they are closed for major renovations. In 2004, Boijmans van Beuningen acquired eight pieces from Alicia Framis' fashion label anti_dog (2002 - 2003). Four of them will be on show at Rijksmuseum.
The collection of garments made from Teijin Twaron is dog bite-, fire- and bullet-proof, made in response to the vulnerability, racism and violence marginalized women face in public spaces around the globe.
To celebrate, Upstream Gallery will showcase an additional piece to the anti_dog collection from the 29th of September until the 14th of October in the private viewing space!
