Marinus Boezem part of big exhibition 'Happy Birthday Amsterdam' at H'art Museum
Marinus Boezem is part of H'art Museum's exhibition 'Happy Birthday Amsterdam', which celebrates the 750th birthday of the capital.
The museum announces to go all out with not one but two unique anniversary exhibitions. For this, H’ART Museum is collaborating with multiple partners and museum institutions both domestically and abroad.
H’ART Museum kicks off the celebration program with the exhibition 'Happy Birthday Amsterdam' (December 4, 2024 – March 16, 2025), a vibrant tribute to Amsterdam as a city of art. The city, long renowned as a haven for freedom and creativity, has served as a cultural hub for artists from around the world. 'Happy Birthday Amsterdam' showcases a rich and colorful collection of works by 75 artists, past and present. Rather than a historical overview, it’s a festive ode to the city and the creators who have lived, worked, or passed through it—sometimes for a lifetime, sometimes in transit—all contributing uniquely to the image we have of the city today.
The collection is diverse, colorful, and striking—both surprising and recognizable for art and Amsterdam enthusiasts alike. From Karel Appel to works by Marina Abramovi?, and from Johan Cruijff as seen through the eyes of Marlene Dumas to a sensory experience of the city, the exhibition offers something special for everyone. The exhibition is created in collaboration with several (museum) institutions and partners, with the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands serving as the primary lender and partner.
'Signing the Sky Above the Port of Amsterdam By An Aeroplane, 1969' by Marinus Boezem will be on display (see image on the right).
