Both Jeroen Jongeleen and Kévin Bray are part of exhibition 'New Dutch Horizons' at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport!
NEW DUTCH HORIZONS
Since December 17, travelers in Lounge 1 at Schiphol Airport can visit the temporary art exhibition 'New Dutch Horizons'. This over 200-meter-long exhibition showcases the visions of 19 Dutch artists on the nature and culture of their homeland. It marks the first time Schiphol has built an art exhibition around a construction area at the airport.
Schiphol is in the midst of a large-scale renovation and modernization of Lounge 1, the centrally located hall. Instead of using traditional construction barriers around the worksite, Schiphol has opted for an innovative approach to make the environment more appealing for passengers. Surrounding the construction area, New Dutch Horizons has been created—a 200-meter-long art exhibition where 19 Dutch artists share their perspectives on the nature and culture of the Netherlands.
ARTISTIC ENCOUTER WITH THE NETHERLANDS
'New Dutch Horizons' features works by 19 Dutch artists, including Kévin Bray and Jeroen Jongeleen. In their creations, they express their vision of the nature and culture of their homeland, offering travelers a unique introduction to the diversity of the Netherlands. Inspired by the meeting point of land and sky, the artists have created photographs, paintings, and video art. The horizon, placed at the center of each piece, connects the diverse perspectives of these talented creators. The exhibition combines print and video art, and through the calming power of the artworks, New Dutch Horizons invites visitors to pause and look beyond their own horizons.
A MOMENT OF PEACE
Travelers can experience the art exhibition in Lounge 1, the central area where departing, transferring, and arriving passengers within Europe pass through after security. An audio tour is available in both Dutch and English, providing insights into the concept, the artists, and the stories behind their works.
