Tabor Robak in group show at Migros Museum
Tabor Robak is part of the group show Accumulation – Over collecting, growth and abundance (First sequence) in Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst, which opens the 8th of February.
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION (TRANSLATED)
The consequences of excessive growth are becoming increasingly visible, with the awareness of this tendency growing simultanously.
Nevertheless, progress, prosperity, and social status are still equated with the accumulation of material goods. The exhibition Accumulation invites visitors to engage with the challenges and alternatives of abundance.
Overconsumption exacerbates the climate crisis, deepens social inequalities, and stabilizes (neo-)colonial power structures. But what is the way out? What does the transition from a growth-driven to a common-good-oriented society look like? The artists in this exhibition respond to this challenge in different ways: some explore it thematically, while others develop methodological approaches and strategies to counteract the logic of material accumulation. Read more about the exhibition here (DE).
Tabor Robak's Toys to life (2015) will be on display. The work is a 6-channel 4K video.
