Constant Dullaart in Influencers exhibition at Galerie Hussenot
Work by Constant Dullaart will be presented in the upcoming Influencers exhibition at Galerie Hussenot, Paris.
Influencers
From 9 March to 6 April 2019, Galerie Hussenot will present Influencers, a new project from Ben Elliot in partnership with EXO EXO. This exhibition will examine brand culture and influence marketing: how we create our self-image, how we communicate online, how we create brands in our own image and how we commodify ourselves using a variety of disciplines (visual arts, design, cinema, music).
This group show brings together not only works from several artists and influencers, but also branded products, entertainment content and works by Ben Elliot. The overarching vision of this exhibition is to constantly challenge the very notion of what constitutes an exhibition.
Ben Elliot’s creative approach centres around bringing together a number of objects which he then explores as a collective unit with a view to communicating an idea or concept that frequently holds several meanings at once. This means it can be understood on different levels by actors in the arts world, influencers and the general public.
The general ambience the exhibition is trying to achieve is influenced by the visual feel of waiting rooms and entrance halls – in other words, a space that’s full of life, eminently ‘instagramable’, where visitors can take their time, relax, take a selfie... Like a mise en abyme, the exhibition is designed by influencers for other influencers.
Constant Dullaart will show a few 'flags' with printed instagram profiles. Since 2014, Dullaart has been working on physical realizations of fake accounts. Read more here.
